Don’t be deceived!  – No te engañes!

by Maritza Angulo de González

No matter what you have been told, God’s law it’s about loving your neighbor as you love yourself.  And there is the issue, many of us were not taught about the importance of being ourselves and loving ‘me’ as I proclaim to love others.  The book of Galatians reminds us about the importance of restoring those that have fall into sin, those that are oppressed and to share their burdens if we really want to comply with Christ’ law.  And Christ’s law is completed through extravagant love.

MSG: Live creatively, friends. If someone falls into sin, forgivingly restore him, saving your critical comments for yourself. You might be needing forgiveness before the day’s out. Stoop down and reach out to those who are oppressed. Share their burdens, and so complete Christ’s law. If you think you are too good for that, you are badly deceived.  Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don’t be impressed with yourself. Don’t compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life.”
